CAT establishes electronic recovery protocol
CAT disposes of a significant innovation in the logistics of leased vehicles recoveries: an electronic recovery protocol!
Anyone who has been through a leasing process knows how important an exact and complete documentation of the vehicle is at its return. This is crucial when assigning possible damages as well as missing parts to the involved parties. One thing is certain: the better and more exact the condition of the delivered vehicles is documented, the lower is the aftermath concerning expenses in downstream processes.
Together with LeasePlan, one of the leading financial services providers with core competency on fleet management, we have developed an electronic recovery protocol in order to carry out the vehicle return process most optimally.
This is how it works: the electronic recovery protocol is set up with help of a tablet computer and an app. The app securely collects and documents all details concerning the return process. In the presence of the customer, we document the condition of the vehicle and defined mandatory fields give answer frameworks. The recovery protocol also allows us to document specific details with photos.
The electronic recovery tool creates an unprecedented transparency. It documents, next to the basic return conditions, the lighting situation as well as weather conditions during the vehicle hand-over. After the mutual electronic confirmation the protocol is directly sent to the LeasePlan customer as well as to LeasePlan itself.
After successfully completing the pilot phase of this project, we equipped our entire fleet with tablet computers. All of our drivers have absolved intensive trainings regarding this new medium. With this electronic protocol, all of our leased vehicles recoveries can take place in a more precise matter.
The positive feedback of our customers and employees affirms the importance and correctness regarding the decision to invest in such an innovative and customer-orientated system. The group CAT posses an important innovation in the logistics of leased vehicles recoveries!
